ABOUT THE ARTISTS
With vocals that soar, bend and shape to any groove he’s riding, Bilal’s legendary artistry runs soul-deep. The Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and producer plays with jazz, afro-futurism, classic and neo-soul, alternative R&B and rock with his signature instrument: his voice. Evolving his sound for over 20 years, Bilal shines as a genre-bending vocalist and captivating performer.
Since starting out with the Soulquarians music collective at the forefront of the neo-soul wave, Bilal’s career has been a vast and growing soundscape of artistic collaborations. He has worked with artists including Kendrick Lamar, Common, Erykah Badu, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Guru, Kimbra, J Dilla, Robert Glasper and The Roots. His sixth and most recent album, Adjust Brightness, is an experimental and bright showcase of his talent and influences.
